So, what do you think about people who use trace-bases in their work? Are you completely against using them or do you see a use for them in certain projects?

It's mostly that using obviously traced content for your work takes away artistic merit from it, IMHO. Non-traced content is much easier to appreciate.

While I'm not entirely against trace-bases in one's work, it is kind of a turn-off when it's painfully obvious.

I completely agree. I understand if a person was to come up with a base of their own and use it, that is still being creative, but tracing out scenes from the show to me is not art, it is just copying.

It seems to me that people who do that are just trying a quick and easy way to gain popularity instead of actually being artistic.
