On 1st July, #MLPFriendshipIsMagic group came up with a contest to draw anything featuring at least two MLP villains. I was originally considering various silly ideas, like Chrysalis and NMM chilling on a sponge swimming in a kitchen sink, but didn't settle on anything up until recently, when they posted a reminder about the deadline (25th July). Then I randomly got the idea to draw the 3 main villains (Nightmare Moon, Discord and Queen Chrysalis) as babies, in roughly this setting you see here.

The idea evolved a bit in the process; for example, the initial idea was to completely exaggerate the size of Chrysalis' horn and to turn it into a tree on which Discord would be lying, but it was quickly changed into Discord lying on his own tail and simply supporting himself on Chrys' horn. Not that he needs to do so, considering that he's not supposed to make sense.

Another idea that got evolved is that originally, I wanted to put a firefly on Chrys' nose and make her being surrounded by a bunch of them. Then at some point, a light-bulb turned on in my head and I decided to use parasprites instead. Funny little critters; drawing them all with different expressions was a blast.

Originally, the parasprite on Chrys' nose was supposed to face her, but since it would be hard to indicate it, I decided to go with him being all trollish, complete with a trollface. I still made him shiny, as a reminiscent of the initial fireflies idea. I like to think that he's that last Yellow Lum from Rayman 2 (the one that gets eaten by Captain Razorbeard).

Since the initial idea for the image was roughly fitting the size of an iPhone wallpaper, I decided to go for it. People with iPhones should be able to get some cool wallpapers once in a while, don't you think?

What else can I say aside of that? I don't know. Enjoy the image.

PS: I wonder if there's anybody recognizing the reference behind those swirls that surround Discord.

This is an awesome piece of work. I love how you made Discord eating the moon, the expression of Nightmare Moon is great. But with Chrissy's aggravated expression is just awesome. It's like I'm looking at what would be on the show itself, I love it. The only criticism I have is that there are to many parasprites, they kinda take away from the picture, but I see why you have them which I find adorable. The expression of each character is great, the details are just perfect. The texture is well done, and the parasprites need to be toned down.

First thing I can say is- this is really cute! Like others have said, it's a bit crowded, but eh. I don't really mind. I love the trolling Parasprite XD. Also, the fact that Discord is eating the moon is just great. Then there's Nightmare Moon's expression which was what caught my eye here.

Honestly, I think you may have overdone it with the parasprites- the firefly idea would have made this less crowded.

Also, I see a lot of baby versions of villains, but this is probably my favorite interpretation so far.

I can't think of anything else I don't like about this! It's just that good!
