How do you upload the image so that it preserves the blur? I can't find any way to make the SVG visible without using the raster (with the broken blur) as a reference.

I'm not sure what do you mean. What I upload as a deviation is an exported PNG image. In case of this tutorial, it's a series of screenshots.

Are you asking about the previews that are shown when you're viewing one of my downloadable source files and you left-click on the Download File link? If yes, then I don't know. It just works all by itself.
