Good lord thank you SO MUCH for this step by step tutorial! I've only just started vectoring ponies, and I know the basics of Inkscape, but not enough to be able to read a guide and instantly know what to do. Your tutorial has been the only one so far that I can understand easily. THANKS AGAIN!
I know that there is a solution to this in Adobe Illustrator (I would recommend asking mewtwo-EX about it), but in Inkscape, I honestly don't know. It happened to me a few times, and I never knew what caused it. The only possible cause I could think of would be if you unknowingly applied clipping to it, but it's probably not it...
I'm not sure what do you mean. What I upload as a deviation is an exported PNG image. In case of this tutorial, it's a series of screenshots.
Are you asking about the previews that are shown when you're viewing one of my downloadable source files and you left-click on the Download File link? If yes, then I don't know. It just works all by itself.
Hahah the last picture with that artificial horn just rocks
One time I wondered why Unicorns are predisposed for Magic and how could it work "internally" inside their bodies, according to what we know in our world. And I imagined that those horns are placed in the point where the Third Eye chakra is located. It works like a waveguide for magical energy: it gathers it from the inside of their bodies (through the spine, center of their brains, the pineal gland, and straight to the horn), and then it's concentrated as the horn gets thinner, to leave it ultimately in the direction the horn is pointed at
Then I wondered if it's possible for other ponies (non-unicorns) to use Magic in some limited way (as long as they're not equiped with horns by Mother Nature). And I thought that they might use some crystals or other external devices as waveguides for their magical energy to concentrate it and amplify. Crystals are good energy transformers, they can multiply or divide the frequency, make modulations, resonators etc. So I was just that close from inventing artificial horn :-D But now I see it already made by someone, and this is amazing
