Don't recall this group and I'm non-premium. Maybe grandfathered in before they did this?
Or is this just some parody of some of the kind of stuff they do when we're not expecting it?
Regardless my attitude is more or less meh either way, and the only way I'd see myself going premium is if I got enough DA points in my donation pool. (And currently I'm far from the amount needed. I'm just not the type to win any popularity contests.)
"A Promoted deviation or journal will only appear in a deviant's Message Center if the content involved will likely be of high relevance to the deviant."
If that were true (moar Ponies) I wouldn't really mind it. Be it as it is, I don't think it's gonna make much of a difference for me anyway with the traffic my DeviantWatch has to endure. But still, it's bad to force it upon people.
The reaction of 99.9% of the community upon #Promoted's implementation embodied in this comic. Thank you for this, thank you very much And for those that don't understand the fuss... approach the situation like this. Someone approaches you and begins blatantly pissing on your leg.. and I mean.. PISSING. ON. YOUR. LEG... and you ask them to stop and they say SURE.. pay me. Would you pay them or punch them in the face?.. Precisely...
I can never seem to tell if dA is desperately trying to get funds together, or if they're being over zealous in ways to get more money. (What with all the rock-bottom shop/print sales they always seem to have.)
I personally think they should promote art in another way, even if it's a different type of inbox. Mixing it with your +watched art makes no sense, and creating a new inbox would be incredibly easy.
It's not a huge deal for me, but I'm starting to feel sorry for all these huge companies. They don't seem to think past the first 3 layers of a function before implementing it, even if it's a good idea on paper. I'd love to help, but as we all know, one voice doesn't mean anything...so yeah.
