Are you feeling depressed (or pseudo-depressed) and questioning yourself if it's worth it to even bother posting the SVGs up because of the extra time and effort it annoyingly takes to sta.sh it or put it on a media-hosting site/deal with double-upload?

Or maybe I'm projecting...?

I just started to question if anybody even makes use of these files, and if there's any point in uploading them. I figured that a poll might help in answering this.

Well I hope you're sufficiently convinced that enough people make use of the files that when you do make them, uploading would be awesome!

They're a great resource and I respect you for being so willing to give them out, despite the higher chances of art thief you'd receive if you didn't.

I don't use them, but I appreciate them. There's a lot of finesse in making good vectors, something most people don't understand (lololol trace etc). Vector work is something people have managed to misjudge as "copying the show", rather than the talent it actually is of "drawing with different tools".

As an addendum, I wouldn't really bother with releasing SVG files, but would put an "SVG available on request" notice. On both my accounts I made an honest effort to link to clean SVG files, but most people that actually used it were just art thieves that plastered my work on a sticker or shirt and called it a day, raking in money for nothing.

I used to care about this sort of thing, but after seeing major cable news networks reuse my art without so much as a notice, I gave up.

Thanks for the advice, and yeah, it sucks when people take one's stuff and make money off of it without ever even asking if they can.

My major reasoning behind giving free access to my SVGs is that I don't really have much reason to keep them to myself. They're fanarts, based on someone else's work, which means that unless I was to sell shirts and stuff with them under the permission from related parties (Hasbro in this case), I can't really behave like "this is mine, don't steal". And if that's the case, then I can as well just give them to people for free. Yes, art thieves do tend to happen, but that is to be expected.

I'm not saying of course that everyone should do the same, it's just how I think about my own stuff.

The majority of people don't even know what a SVG is?

... it's a sad, sad world.

That said, I follow you because I like your art. Eheh. :D
